DIY camp wedding at camp wandawega

Get ready for a swoon-worthy wedding! Rachel and Mike were married last June at the beautiful Camp Wandawega in Wisconsin. There’s a reason Camp Wandawega is one of our favorites. And let’s just this this out of the way right now: that dress is to dang die for.

an ice cream social, backyard bridal shower

Julia is one of our day-of coordinators, and her enthusiasm for parties and handmade details brought her to Anticipation Events.  Her friend Katie loves ice cream, so an ice cream social was the perfect theme for her bridal shower.

She prettied up her backyard with roses and mint in vases hung from tree branches, and made huge crepe paper flowers to decorate the chairs (inspired by A Blissful Nest’s tutorial.)

gorgeous city wedding at chicago cultural center

Courtney + Mike were married in April 2014 at the Chicago Cultural Center. Being Irish and Catholic didn’t help their guest list numbers and they celebrated with 250 friends and family at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel and they partied all night long at the beautiful Chicago Cultural Center. chicago wedding plannerREAD MORE

downtown chicago wedding at hotel monaco

Candice and Bill were married in June 2014 at Hotel Monaco.  The funniest thing happened at our final walk through, Bill looks at me and says: “I just have one more question: what happened when the hatch to the roof got thrown off of the apartment?” I had NO IDEA what he was talking about. It turns out that he was my landlord at my first apartment in Chicago and my jerk roommates broke a piece off of the roof (and then threw it off?!) He said I handled it well, and it’s a good reminder that this big city is really kind of small. And also that someday you might be planning your landlords wedding so you shouldn’t throw pieces of an apartment that doesn’t technically belong to you off your three-flat. He let us coordinate anyway and Laura killed it!wedding event plannerREAD MORE

modern chicago wedding at chez chicago

Heather + David were married in May 2014 at Chez Chicago.  They really rallied when they lost their original venue just a few weeks before their wedding.  All of us vendors kind of tried to jump in and help them find a new space and it was weird how it worked out — Heather kept talking about bright, light, open and airy spaces.  I think Chez ended up being a better fit than their original choice and theirs was the very first wedding they had. A leap of faith, maybe, but man did we all have our game faces on ready to throw ourselves in front of a bus for these two. chicago wedding blogREAD MORE
