James + Cyril said “oui!” at Thalia Hall in August. A lawyer and an architect, one from Chicago and one from France, these two have enough style in their pinky fingers to pull off the chicest wedding of the year. Thalia Hall was built in the 1800’s and was restored and reestablished in May of 2014 after having been vacant for 50 years. An architectural wonder in and of itself and coupled with James and Cyril being the very first wedding Thalia Hall hosted was just the kind of experience they were looking to wow their guests with.
downtown chicago riverfront wedding
Tanya + Sarah got married at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront and it was spectacular. These two were so funny and fun to be around, there were a few times I had to remind myself I was at work!
gorgeous city wedding at chicago cultural center
Courtney + Mike were married in April 2014 at the Chicago Cultural Center. downtown chicago wedding at hotel monaco
Candice and Bill were married in June 2014 at Hotel Monaco. The funniest thing happened at our final walk through, Bill looks at me and says: “I just have one more question: what happened when the hatch to the roof got thrown off of the apartment?” I had NO IDEA what he was talking about. It turns out that he was my landlord at my first apartment in Chicago and my jerk roommates broke a piece off of the roof (and then threw it off?!) He said I handled it well, and it’s a good reminder that this big city is really kind of small. And also that someday you might be planning your landlords wedding so you shouldn’t throw pieces of an apartment that doesn’t technically belong to you off your three-flat. He let us coordinate anyway and Laura killed it!READ MORE
modern chicago wedding at chez chicago
Heather + David were married in May 2014 at Chez Chicago. They really rallied when they lost their original venue just a few weeks before their wedding. All of us vendors kind of tried to jump in and help them find a new space and it was weird how it worked out — Heather kept talking about bright, light, open and airy spaces. I think Chez ended up being a better fit than their original choice and theirs was the very first wedding they had. A leap of faith, maybe, but man did we all have our game faces on ready to throw ourselves in front of a bus for these two. READ MORE
