southern charm destination wedding at bartlett barn
Mary Susan + Peter’s fall wedding at Bartlett Barn in rural Arkansas had all the southern charm you could possibly want in a wedding! Their ceremony was held at a private residence overlooking a cotton field in honor of Mary Susan’s father who worked in them his whole life. Their reception was held at Bartlett Barn and though it rained intermittently all weekend long, you’d never be able to tell from these gorgeous ‘getting ready’ photos.
destination wedding at joslyn art museum
This is my sister. Pretty little darlin’ isn’t she? She married her true love in August in Omaha at St. Barnabas Parish and the reception was held at Joslyn Art Museum. I don’t want to wax on too much about it just because she is my sister, but let me tell you how interesting it was to be the day-of coordinator and maid-of-honor. At most weddings when I am working, I tend to get to sit down and take a break for the first time all day during the wedding toasts. Usually I shove some food down and chug a few waters but not this time, this time I was on deck to toast the heck out of the happy couple. (#nailedit) Usually when the guests get dancing, I pack everything up and get it ready for the family. This time Jacob’s cousin was teaching me “the pretzel” as I tore up that dance floor. Usually, I only know the bride & groom and maybe their parents. This time, I knew over half of the crowd, many of whom I hadn’t seen in years. It was an exhausting weekend but totally worth it, though I do recommend choosing one or the other, except on the most special of occasions.
Wedding planner fail: I obviously was not specific enough about when the darling ring bearer Corbin was supposed to stop pulling the wagon. He just tried to truck that thing (Liam and all) right up the steps and onto the alter. Luckily Jacob and I both have quick reflexes.
I love you little family, thanks for including me in your big day!

- Weddings galore: from a lakeside in Wisconsin, a cotton field in Arkansas, an art museum in Omaha and a chic boutique hotel in Chicago, we’ve been trucking around the country bringing a little love to brides and grooms anywhere we can find them.
- My little sister gets married. Holy crap. I pull double duty as coordinator and maid-of-honor.
- We hire another fantastic coordinator to join the team. I know you can’t wait to meet her…
- We’re currently working on a complete website makeover. In the meantime, you’ll notice our little blog has had a little makeover herself. We hope you like.
- And this just in, we’ll be spending the winter prepping for Indie Wed 2013. We’re so thrilled to be accepted as a vendor for this fantastic show and hope to see all of your smiling faces there!
Let’s get ready to rumble….
travel inspired wedding treats for a destination wedding
Saw this today and I love it. Anything travel/map inspired is right up my alley. This would likely be something you could recreate on your own with a family cookie recipe, a stencil of the globe and gobs of patience.
