Fall in Chicago always hits different, and pairing it with a space like Skyline Loft made this one even better. Cozy seasonal tones, a lot of personal touches – Melissa + Kyle’s wedding was truly special.
Getting Ready & Hilarious Details
The morning was all laughs while everyone got ready. Crystal jewelry, bridal heels, and – still a favorite of ours – an embroidered custom handkerchief from Melissa with a sweet, funny message for her mom: “keep your sh*t together, Mom” and her mom, indeed, tried to do so very hard.
First Looks Under the Willow Trees
Melissa and Kyle snuck outside for their first look, enjoying a solo moment by the riverwalk and willow trees. Kyle in a maroon suit, Melissa in a timeless A-line gown with a flowing veil trailing behind her.
Trolley Celebrations & Rich Fall Tones
The wedding party got things started at a party trolley, ready for the big moment. They leaned all the way into fall – bridesmaids in rust and terracotta with faux-fur wraps, groomsmen in slate and teal suits with some seriously fun patterned socks that meant business.
Vows, Greenery & A Whole Lot of Disco Balls
Wooden beams, string lights, greenery hanging overhead with disco balls all around- that’s what guests walked into at Skyline Loft. Melissa and Kyle exchanged vows up on a raised wooden platform, and the light from the disco balls gave them the perfect walk back down the aisle as a newly married couple. Look just how dreamy the place looks!
Cocktails & Retro Lounge Vibes
If you thought the place looked fun already, wait until you see the rest of the details. For starters, guests were welcomed with a mirror that read “You look incredible, now go grab a drink” – so there was no excuse for not having fun that night. Next to the mirror, a vintage red rotary phone invited them to leave a message, a neon dove sign lit up the table – the room had a whole retro-lounge thing going.
The dinner tables kept it up: amber goblets, candlelight, pink blooms, and hexagonal escort cards showed everyone their seats.
Speeches, Cupcake Towers & Dancing All Night
After a lovely first dance under the disco balls and toasts from the bridal party that got the newlyweds feeling all the emotions, everyone made their way to a dessert table loaded with tiered cupcakes of all kinds of flavors – creme brulee? carrot? yum!
After that, the lights dropped, the music turned up, and nobody sat back down for the rest of the night.
