We were lucky enough to work with Mel + Teddy on styling and day of coordination. Mel + Teddy brought their love of skating, plant life, family and a great party for their reception on the rooftop at The National in downtown Chicago.
Mel + Teddy got married in Michigan but chose to party in Chicago. They had three photo locations: the Garfield Park Conservatory, the Humboldt Park boat house and at Clemente (for skate photos). While they took their stunning photos, we prepared the reception venue. Sprout Home canopied The National’s rooftop atrium with string lights and greenery. Planters + seating around the patio were covered with plush pillows and cushions in the couples favorite blues, oranges and greens.
Guests got to feast on passed appetizers and food stations from The National’s Revival Food Hall’s variety of vendors. In lieu of a traditional guest book, the couple had skateboards for guests to leave messages. Drinks + custom cocktails were flowing from the indoor and outdoor bars.
An 18-piece band kicked off the night with Celebration by Kool & the Gang, before speeches and dancing under the stars. Afterwards, guests could build their own bouquet from flowers brought from a farm in Michigan to bring home to remember the night. The couple kept the party going with a late night DJ. Undoubtably, no detail was unthought of at Mel + Teddy’s rooftop reception at The National.
