ovation chicago offbeat wedding

Jake and Ellen are the coolest and their Ovation Chicago offbeat wedding was perfect. They love music and The Big Lebowski and have impeccable style. We love that for us because we got to work with them taking all of their favorite things and making them into the most FUN day. Laura coordinated this one and I’ll admit, when I (Elizabeth) stopped by, the energy was palpable and I got some goosebumps. It was one of the first weddings in the lifecycle of Covid where people were able to be vaxxinated and gather again, and it felt like “holy crap” we can party again. It was wonderful and these two and their energy made it so.

During the height of the pandemic in 2020, Jake and Ellen decided to elope in Colorado and postpone their party to 2021. Their Ovation Chicago offbeat wedding reception was all fun and games and killer dance moves and great tunes. The flowers, the sunglasses, the leather jacket, and the subtle nods to their love of music, movies, and parties were the perfect way to FINALLY celebrate with their family in friends after a very long, very hard year.
