grand green wedding at the arbory

When you pair Chicago’s urban brick backdrops with lush, overflowing botanical details, magic happens. John and Mary Elisabeth’s wedding celebration at The Arbory was the very definition of elevated industrial romance, blending rich forest-green tones, warm candlelight, and thoughtful, personalized details from start to finish.

Getting Ready: Green Heels, Happy Tears & Window Views

The morning began with detail moments that set the tone for the entire aesthetic. Mary Elisabeth wore a crisp, modern strapless gown complemented by a lush bouquet of white anemones, dark center accents, and cascading foliage. Her vibrant emerald green heels added a brilliant pop of color, paired perfectly with a custom white clutch featuring her new title, “Mrs. Ryan.”

Next, she shared an emotional reveal moment with her group before stepping out for a private first look with John. Standing in front of massive floor-to-ceiling windows, the couple shared a quiet moment together before heading to the venue.

The Ceremony: Warm Brick & Overhead Foliage

Inside The Arbory, the ceremony setup made full use of the venue’s iconic brick walls and exposed beams. Guests gathered under glowing string lights as the couple exchanged vows beneath a massive installation of wild, suspended greenery. Lined with pillar candles, delicate sheer draping, and leafy floral pedestals, the room felt instantly warm and intimate as the new Mr. and Mrs. Ryan made their way back down the aisle.

Moody Tablescapes & Reception Magic

The space shifted into a moody, candlelit reception. Long tables featured dark linens, tall floral arrangements, and floating candles. Guests gathered around as the couple shared special dances and cut their wedding cake.

Soon after, the energy turned all the way up. Mary Elisabeth changed into a feather-trimmed white mini dress, and everyone hit the floor to celebrate and dance under the bistro lights. It was an unforgettable celebration from start to finish.

Congratulations to John & Mary Elisabeth!
