There’s just nothing better than a wedding with a little quirkiness and a lot of personality. And that’s just what we got at Sarah + Matt’s wedding at DANK Haus German American Cultural Center last summer.
It was a lovely summer day for Sarah + Matt to get ready at their apartment on the boulevard in Lincoln Square. We just LOVE Sarah’s dotted Swiss tea-length dress and, of course, you can’t beat a good bow tie on a groom!
For the ceremony, Sarah + Matt’s closest family and friends gathered around them as they said “I do” in Palmer Square park – just blocks from their apartment. So intimate and relaxed, isn’t it perfect?
Back at the reception space, Laura and Sabrina were busy setting up so much amazing DIY decor. Sarah is a teacher and you can tell she’s got the crafty touch in a very good way. She collected tin cans and wine bottles for the favors and centerpieces and then spent what had to be hours – if not days – creating tissue paper flowers and pom poms for the decor at the reception. The result is nothing short of fantastic! Matt’s got the graphic design talent, so he designed the pinata themed escort cards that we just adore!
The reception was Fun with a capital F. Matt’s friends, the Tiny Cover Band, played some of the couple’s favorite tunes on their tiny instruments (yes, they have tiny instruments!), the couple gave a giant pinata prize to the best dancer and some of their family and friends even jumped in and sang a few songs.
We loved being part of Sarah + Matt’s big day and wish them all the best!
