When Laura met Laurie at an art fair in 2013 (and bought one of her beautiful Lake Michigan prints), she had no idea she’d end up coordinating her wedding a few years later or that she’d get to coordinate another wedding in one of her favorite places on Earth – Harbor Springs, Michigan. Get ready for a completely beautiful, handcrafted, labor of love. Strap on your seat belts, you’re in for an amazing ride…
Laurie + Bret got ready in family cabins in Wequetonsing, a beautiful community of Victorian homes right on Lake Michigan. You could not pick a more picturesque or serene location if you tried! From there, they met up for first look photos before heading down to the beach for their ceremony.
Laurie + Bret’s ceremony was in front of her cousin’s house on a patch of grass overlooking Little Traverse Bay. Bret’s dad made the most gorgeous nautical arbor, but the highlight of the ceremony had to be the groom’s entrance. That’s right…Bret stole the show when he paddled in with his officiant/brother via CANOE. It was epic.
After the ceremony, Laurie + Bret led their guests down the street for a tented reception. Laurie (with a little help from her mom and sisters) hand-died vintage linens for the tables and then created centerpieces with wood rounds, assorted vases, and an eclectic collection of flowers. Complete with an amazing menu from Dave Cooper (who came in from Chicago just for the occasion) and music from the Jelly Roll Blues Band, their guests partied all night long.
