Aileen + Ed’s fall wedding at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel was everything a glamorous Chicago wedding should be. It was full of beautiful details, heartfelt moments, and some serious laughs. We absolutely adore Aileen + Ed, who have since started their own photography business and are taking the wedding industry by storm! These two are unstoppable.
Tanya + Sarah got married at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront and it was spectacular. These two were so funny and fun to be around, there were a few times I had to remind myself I was at work!
They got all dolled up at the hotel and were close byso many great downtown Chicago photo ops. Michael Novo Photography killed it with the photos, so many for me to choose from, I don’t know how in the heck Tanya + Sarah choose their favorites. One of my favorite florists in town (you can see why looking at those bouquets) Asrai Garden put them in touch with us and I was so happy when they said they had met with a bunch of different planners and didn’t “feel it” until they found us!
Sarah manages bands and her great friend Aaron Wilhoft sang them down the aisle. I’m not impressed easily but I kind of wanted to be a creeper and ask if he would sing at all of my weddings…I could make you a star, Aaron! With a few happy tears, some glorious sunshine streaming through the windows, and a Russian blessing from Tanya’s parents, Tanya and Sarah made it official with Anita Weds and all of their friends and family looking on.
Oh my god, did these guys know how to party. They drank and danced and toasted and spun vendors around the dance floor all night long. Such a fun-loving couple and a wedding that was a dang joy to be apart of. Check out their wedding featured on Equal & Forever, aptly titled “The Princess and the Rockstar!” So perfect, I love it (and them.)

Candice and Bill were married in June 2014 at Hotel Monaco. The funniest thing happened at our final walk through, Bill looks at me and says: “I just have one more question: what happened when the hatch to the roof got thrown off of the apartment?” I had NO IDEA what he was talking about. It turns out that he was my landlord at my first apartment in Chicago and my jerk roommates broke a piece off of the roof (and then threw it off?!) He said I handled it well, and it’s a good reminder that this big city is really kind of small. And also that someday you might be planning your landlords wedding so you shouldn’t throw pieces of an apartment that doesn’t technically belong to you off your three-flat. He let us coordinate anyway and Laura killed it!
Emily + Dan were married in October at one of my favorite hotels in the city: The Blackstone Hotel. There is so much character and jaw-dropping architecture in that one Michigan Avenue building. Doesn’t hurt to have the loveliest bride to casually perch on the sill of a stunning art deco window for a snap either!
Eric + Mike were married at Public Chicago in Chicago in October. Full disclosure: Eric and Mike live in Omaha and own an amazing hair salon there. Eric has been my hair stylist since I was 15 years old. He loves to tell the story of me running into the salon after a soccer game with a towel twisting up my still wet hair an hour before the Homecoming dance. So obviously this man can work miracles. Which obviously this means I love him.
When they told me they were getting married in Chicago I insisted I would coordinate, mostly because I wanted to attend. I regret nothing. They flew 20 of their closest family and friends to Chicago and spent the weekend enjoying their company before getting hitched on Sunday. It was an exquisite event to say the least. Take a peek.
My buddy! I love how Pen/Carlson snapped this photo of me seeing Eric for the first time. It was both odd and so amazing to see him outside of the salon. Now if I can just convince them to hurry up and move to Chicago (at least part-time!?)
Eric’s vows made Mike cry and Eric was so proud of himself. Love it! Since they had just 20 guests at the wedding, they threw a dinner party to end all dinner parties. Seriously. It was at least six courses and the Dom was flowing nonstop. Everyone sat at one amazing table and after dinner they enjoyed the terrace, more drinks and a second helping of dessert. There’s something to be said for a small and intimate wedding, and this one was quite lovely.
