camp indie wed!

As we prepare for Indie Wed this weekend, we’re taking a look back at last year, when we put together Camp Indie Wed with some of our favorite friendors (aka vendor-friends)! It was so ah-mazing that we just had to share…

On one seriously gorgeous day in October, we packed our glue guns, duct tape, and ribbon and headed up to Camp Wandawega for a super scenic and absolutely banging photo shoot.

In addition to the amazing eye candy from Jeremy Lawson Photography above, take a look behind the scenes of our awesome photo shoot courtesy of LEAP Weddings :

A few months later, we brought camp to Chicago at Indie Wed! Our fabulous team of vendors assembled again to take over the third floor Indie Wed Lounge and transform it into Camp Indie Wed for the day. And what’s camp without friendship bracelets, arts & crafts, a campfire, tents and a live band!

camp wandawega wedding-reunion

What do you get when you combine fireworks, Camp Wandawega, a grilled cheese food truck, swimming, the biggest campfire you’ve ever seen, merit badges and old school games? The campiest weekend ever and Elena + Ken’s fourth of July wedding extravaganza!

wedding planner

Elena + Ken’s wedding was more than a wedding, it was really a weekend of fun and family reunion with all of their best friends at one of the best places on Earth: Camp Wandawega. The guests started off the weekend with old school camp games where they could win merit badges created by the couple. Throughout the day, everyone enjoyed breakfast on the hill, grilled cheese from the food truck for lunch and, of course, tasty beverages all day. We know, you wish you were there.

While the guests played volleyball, potato sack raced and practiced their archery skills, Elena + Ken headed into the cabins to get ready. You can’t help but love a beautiful setting like this for getting ready for your wedding day!

While the guests played and the couple got ready, we made sure each and every detail was in place from the mismatched chairs for the reception to the luminaries for late night shenanigans on the dock.

Of course, with Camp Wandawega as your backdrop Elena + Ken had to sneak off to get some amazingly gorgeous photos.

Finally the festivities begin with a super sweet ceremony overlooking the lake and a fun-filled reception followed by a bonfire of epic proportions!

DIY camp wedding at camp wandawega

Get ready for a swoon-worthy wedding! Rachel and Mike were married last June at the beautiful Camp Wandawega in Wisconsin. There’s a reason Camp Wandawega is one of our favorites. And let’s just this this out of the way right now: that dress is to dang die for.

Getting ready at camp is not for the prissy. It’s usually hot and with no A/C in the bunkhouses it can be a challenge. But Rachel and Mike’s wedding day was beautiful, a little breeze of Lake Wandawega and an emerald green dress that Rachel kept a surprise from almost everyone.

Camp Wandawega wedding doesn’t need much fanfare in order to be spectacular. Rachel and Mike had just enough details to complement the setting without overwhelming it. Bright wildflowers, a golden moose or two and cafe lights under a tent on a summer night. Dear Camp Wandawega, can we move in? Will work for turns on the tire swing.

Their ceremony overlooking the lake was full of personality and happy tears. With friends and family presiding over the ceremony, singing and doing the readings, a wedding ceremony at camp is one of the most intimate spots we’ve found for a wedding.

As if you needed more proof, John and Maura of Stoffer Photography are incredibly gifted. Just look at these ridiculous pictures of Rachel and Mike.

We’re obsessed with everything about this place and these two (not a creepy way, we promise!) And after our job was done we went ahead and let them party well into the night while Teresa and David built one of their famous bonfires for the “have to have it” late night s’mores. Congrats you two crazy kids, let’s do this again for an anniversary real soon.

destination camp wedding at camp wandawega

Lindsay + Bobby were married last August at Camp Wandawega in Wisconsin which in an incredible place to visit and a spectacular setting for a wedding.indie wedding ideas

With a wedding in Wisconsin, a planner in Chicago, photographer in Washington state and a bride and groom in California, it was a huge team effort to see this weekend of fun come together.  Guests were invited to come for the entire weekend and many took advantage of everything Camp Wandawega has to offer: canoes were rowed, archery lessons commenced, s’mores were roasted and possibly a beer or two was drunk between old friends.

Lindsay and my taste are pretty spot on, so our collaboration was so easy right from the start. From their amazing invitation suite to all of the glorious DIY details, AE’s Facebook feed was blowing up all weekend long.

With ceremony music featuring Rogue Wave and Q Tip, and a gentle breeze of Lake Wandawega we were off to an amazing start.

The reception was rocking.  Tons of delicious food served family-style, lots of home and locally brewed beers, dancing, doughnuts and a bonfire at the end of the party.  Perfectly styled and completely in love.  That’s how we like it here at Anticipation Events.  So happy we were a part of this amazing day.
