Usually, we don’t do a lot of wedding shows, but this winter we styled it up at several. You would think after last year’s Camp Indie Wed, we’d hang up our hats for a bit, but no. This year, we hit Indie Wed, Dose Trousseau, and helped launch the first Beverly Wedding Expo. At all three, we channeled our inner grandmother goddess to put together some wedding inspiration with just the right level of “eclectic” and “granny” combined. (If you didn’t know, we’re kind of known for this vibe.)
So fun to finally get to share all of the pictures from this styled shoot we did at Thalia Hall before it was renovated and open to the public! An amazing crew of vendors pitched in to create one of my very favorite shoots ever. We coordinated and styled all of this amazingness, which I always find so amazing to see it all come together. Courtney + Mike were married in April 2014 at the Chicago Cultural Center. Being Irish and Catholic didn’t help their guest list numbers and they celebrated with 250 friends and family at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel and they partied all night long at the beautiful Chicago Cultural Center. Candice and Bill were married in June 2014 at Hotel Monaco. The funniest thing happened at our final walk through, Bill looks at me and says: “I just have one more question: what happened when the hatch to the roof got thrown off of the apartment?” I had NO IDEA what he was talking about. It turns out that he was my landlord at my first apartment in Chicago and my jerk roommates broke a piece off of the roof (and then threw it off?!) He said I handled it well, and it’s a good reminder that this big city is really kind of small. And also that someday you might be planning your landlords wedding so you shouldn’t throw pieces of an apartment that doesn’t technically belong to you off your three-flat. He let us coordinate anyway and Laura killed it!READ MORE
The only wedding show we ever participate in rolled around last winter and we (per usual) stayed up all night putting the finishing touches on our booth. Indie Wed is one of our favorite times of the year because we get to see so many of our very favorite vendors in one place and get the chance to be creative with only the dimensions of our booth to confine us.
Laura saved the day when I was setting up and my giant, golden “P” popped. Let’s face it, “Let’s Arty” just doesn’t have the same ring as “Let’s Party!”
Eye Candy by yours truly as well as the uber talented Tuan Bui Photography.
