Megan + Parker were married at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in May. They had a Memorial Day weekend brunch wedding, which if you know me and my personal obsession with brunch (who isn’t obsessed with mimosas and Bloody Mary’s?) then you know we were a match made in wedding heaven. Megan got up really early to get ready, luckily she had some serious help from their adorable daughter Olivia.
Recently I was one of the experts in CBS Chicago’s, Best of Chicago: ‘Ask an Expert’ series. Who am I to argue with that? The article features tips for hosting a baby shower but can be applied to any shower or party in general.

Jolyne + Brendan were married at Park Community Church in April and celebrated their reception at Garfield Park Conservatory. This was a particularly fun challenge for me because we planned the entire wedding in 11 weeks. They knew they were going to get engaged, so they reached out to me and luckily Garfield Park Conservatory had an April Saturday open. They jumped on it, he officially proposed in Florida while they were on vacation and we were off the the races.
Thank my lucky stars Jolyne was decisive about her vendors, we made them quickly and put together a great team for the day.
After getting all dressed up, we met at the church and I had the delight of sending all of these beautiful people down the aisle. The little sweeties who brought the rings and tossed the petals were so talkative and excited, the perfect age for ringbear-ing and flower girl-ing!
The Carrs got some great photos before the party at Garfield Park Conservatory!
And party we did! Garfield Park Conservatory is SUCH an amazing space to have a reception, you get to be surrounded by the most amazing flora and don’t have to worry about inclement weather of any kind! A wedding planners’ dream.
A lovely couple, with lovely families who got engaged and married in record speed. Now who wants to hire me to plan their wedding in less than 11 weeks? We can do it! Until then, Jolyne and Brendan will be in the AE record books!

I recently had the pleasure of creating some save-the-dates for a 50th anniversary party happening this summer in upstate New York. Inspired by a photo from Anne & John Fay’s 1963 wedding in County Kildare, Ireland I designed the piece to take a page from a photo album of yesteryear. Using a whimsical font, black and white photo prints, photo corners and luxurious letterpress we certainly set the mood for what will be quite the celebration. A #10, fig, paper source envelope and wraparound mailing labels completed the package. The Fay’s have been known to tool around town on their bicycle built for two and have enjoyed a bit of notoriety for it, so we paid a little homage to this most amazing pastime. Hope you like them as much as I do!
The Fay’s celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in upstate New York at the end of July. Here’s how the rest of the invitation suite turned out. Mighty fine, I’d say!
And they lived happily ever after!
It was early June when Sarah + Michael were married at the Quadrangle Club. Laura took charge of coordinating their day and we both agree they deserve the “chillest couple of all time” award. It was nearly unbelievable how relaxed and easygoing they were through the entire planning process and on the day of their most glorious wedding. Take for example the photo below, have you ever seen anything more stunning? I dare think not.
So one of my other favorite things in browsing through the photos is Michael’s facial expressions during their ceremony. I just love them and don’t think I’ve ever seen a groom quite capture joy like he did. He is so pumped. And I love that for Sarah.
And more amazingness (it’s a word, I promise) from him post-ceremony as well, married to that beauty, who wouldn’t be that excited?
Such a fun group of family and friends surrounded Sarah + Michael on their special day. Lots of laughter, lots of love. And cake, delicious, gorgeous cake.
An amazing day for an amazing couple. Thanks for letting us be a part of the first day of your next big adventure!
